Retro Gaming in the Teen Room

July 6 - August 21

The theme of this year’s summer reading program is Unearth a Story, which means participating libraries nationwide are upping their paleontology/archaeology/geology game this summer. But digging back doesn’t just mean unearthing past treasures, it also refers to our inner journeys back to our yesteryears, those foundational moments in our individual lives and national history. So much to say, the supremely rad Christian Bloom of Retro Realm in Middlebury is loaning the Pierson an arcade cabinet loaded with more than 200 classic video games! We’re talking Centipede, Asteroid, Missile Command, Bubble Bobble, etc.. Players can come two-at-a-time to game with this machine all summer, through Shelburne Day on August 15. Retro gamers and old-school arcade hounds rejoice!
