Gone Guys Documentary Screening

December 2 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Over the past fifty years, boys and young men have steadily disengaged from school, work, and broader society. They’re falling behind academically, struggling with loneliness and isolation, and facing rising rates of substance abuse and suicide. What can we do as a society to help? Join us for a screening of Gone Guys, a powerful documentary that explores this urgent question. Through candid interviews and compelling storytelling, the film sheds light on the challenges faced by boys and men today and highlights the people and programs working to reconnect them to purpose and community.

Inspired by Richard Reeves’s influential book Of Boys and Men and set here in Vermont, Gone Guys offers both insight and hope. Following the 45-minute screening, stay for a 30-minute panel discussion with local advocates, who will reflect on the film’s themes and discuss what they mean for our community. A Q&A will follow. All are welcome, and admission is free. The event is brought to you in partnership with Shelburne Community School. For more information about the film, visit goneguysfilm.com.
