Death Cafe

Death Cafés are welcoming spaces where people come together to talk openly about death, with the goal of making the most of our finite lives. Moderated by Shelburne resident Nick Marconi, these intimate monthly gatherings offer a chance to voice concerns, share personal stories, ask questions, and reflect on one of life’s universal truths. Each conversation is shaped by who’s in the room. Some sessions may wander into philosophical or existential territory, while others focus on practical matters like DNR forms, wills, or rights of survivorship. It’s not always an easy conversation, but when we speak from the heart, we build deeper community and uncover a special kind of joy that brings meaning to the present.
