Second Thursday Lecture Series: Birds of Vermont Museum

Tonight, at our Second Thursday lecture series, we’re joined by members of the Birds of Vermont Museum out of Huntington. Thier miraculous museum and bird sanctuary lie at the interstice of art and natural history, housing and showcasing 495 biologically accurate woodcarvings by the late, great woodcarver and Vermont naturalist, Bob Spear. Most natural history museums, with their taxidermical displays have an unshakeable ghoulish energetic. This museum is something else. Come learn about Bob’s legacy, this unique museum, our relationship to art and the environment and perhaps even a poetics of the ornithological!
