Spooktacular Film Fest: The Haunting

One of the greatest ghost movies ever made, 1963’s The Haunting (based on Shirley Jackson’s novel The Haunting of Hill House) is a masterclass of unease and ratcheting suspense. Paranormal researchers and specially selected psychics converge on Hill House, a bad place like none other. While the film features little in the way of onscreen violence, it is emotionally intense, suitable for mature 12-year-olds and up. A bona fide chiller and a film of immense artistry. Rated G.
