SUMMARY:Poe: An Adaptation
DESCRIPTION:Celebrated author Edgar Allan Poe delivers a public lecture to a darkened theater and at last faces the question\, “What has been the inspiration for your life’s work?” In response\, the master of terror will guide his audience on a dreamlike and ghastly journey of love and obsession\, vengeance and horror. Written by and starring Shelburne/Charlotte resident Alex Nalbach (author and director of last fall’s Shelburne Players production of “Murder at Eight”)\, this fictional imagining of Poe’s life will haunt and captivate you. As the shadows gather this autumn\, please join us for three theatrical performances of this world-premiere\, one-man play. May not be suitable for young children.

SUMMARY:Playback Theatre Practice Troupe
DESCRIPTION:Calling all movers\, thespians\, comedians\, improvers\, art therapists\, healers\, creatives and folx who like to get real! This summer\, over the course of six sessions\, Jasper is forming a troupe to practice the Playback art form. A unique hybrid of improv and psychodrama wherein audience members see their own stories re-enacted back to them. The first Playback theatre company was founded in Great Britain in 1975. Performances can vary from the hilarious to the moving. Sound interesting? We’re carving out a safe space to play and it all culminates in a live performance this August!
