SUMMARY:Spring Art Opening
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the season at the library’s Spring Art Opening\, featuring artists Megan M. Mann and Stacey Stanhope-Dundon\, along with a special display of student artwork from Champlain Valley Union High School. Megan M. Mann will display paintings inspired by Vermont’s landscapes\, food\, and farming. A lifelong artist and trained art therapist\, Mann’s work reflects more than 15 years exploring the connection between creativity and emotional wellbeing\, capturing the vibrant aliveness of food from farm to table through color and texture. Stacey Stanhope-Dundon will exhibit pottery and a selection of paintings. Her ceramic pieces combine illustration with hand-thrown forms\, decorated using wax and black slip techniques and high-fired in a salt kiln to create the distinctive sheen of salt-fired pottery. The exhibition also features the class of 2026 Senior Art Show from Champlain Valley Union High School. Join us to welcome spring and celebrate creativity in our community!

SUMMARY:Winter Art Show
DESCRIPTION:Warm up these cold days with the library’s Winter Art Show\, which brings together artists of all ages exploring landscape\, wonder\, and the natural world. Rebecca Padula’s At the Edge of Town presents moody oil and cold wax paintings inspired by New England’s rural spaces\, where memory and abstraction meet. Photographer Jeffrey Trubisz invites viewers On the Trail\, sharing images of wild places that reflect both literal paths and life’s journeys. Painter Laurel Waters presents bold landscapes in oil\, full of color and movement. Ceramic works by Barbara Murphy showcase hand-built pottery inspired by nature\, with varied firing techniques that yield richly unexpected results. And rounding out the exhibition is Night Sky Art by Pre-K and first-grade students from Shelburne Community School\, created through an interdisciplinary exploration of the cosmos. Together\, these works celebrate curiosity\, place\, and the many ways we experience and interpret the world around us. Join us for an afternoon of community and creativity!

DESCRIPTION:Bring the whole family to the Pierson Library on Sunday\, January 12th from 2-4 p.m. to celebrate the launch of the library’s new Art Exchange Program\, which brings creative works from outside Shelburne to our community. This first exhibition\, in collaboration with Keen Arts from New York\, features painter Mike Kaz and sculptor Matt Horner in Twists and Turns. The show is inspired by Alpinist Mark Newcomb’s reflection: “It’s the little decisions in your life that connect one by one\, as points in time.
