DESCRIPTION:Find community and encouragement with other writers in our monthly creative writing meet-up! Each session will include a check-in to see where and how everyone’s at with their practice and/or projects\, followed by an in-session generative writing exercise (lead either by library staff or outside expert)\, a supportive workshopping of submitted pages (ideally read ahead of session) and quiet time for individual creative work in a group writing environment. DESCRIPTION:Ever wonder who’s been wandering through Shelburne’s woods? Join us and the Conservation Task Force on a winter walk with local wildlife tracker Rex Meader and follow the clues animals leave behind! Learn to identify tracks and other signs of the forest’s hidden residents. We’ll meet offsite the walking trails at the H. Laurence Achilles Natural Area at Shelburne Pond (parking is available on Pond Access Road).  If the weather turns too cold or snowy\, we’ll bring the adventure indoors at the library.

DESCRIPTION:Death Cafes are opportunities to gather and increase awareness of death so that we might make the most of our finite lives. Moderated by Shelburne resident Nick Marconi\, these intimate monthly discussions are a place to voice concerns\, share stories\, ask questions\, and think together about this fact of life. The conversations will inevitably vary depending on who’s in the room\, sometimes meandering into existential and/or philosophical terrain\, sometimes segueing into the practicalities of DNR forms\, wills\, and rights of survivorship.
